With new understanding on motivational ability, employers should look again at training managers and supervisors in motivational skills, says management development trainers KJ Associates.
Hampshire-based KJ has joined forces with HR advisors JCV Consultancy to develop a new one-day inhouse motivation training workshop which they say goes further than conventional motivational theories.
Katie Jones of KJ Associates said: "This course obviously looks at how to reduce absence and increase productivity through greater personal and team awareness - but so do many courses.
"Where we go further is to help managers identify energy drainers and eliminate them, recognise and overcome other people's barriers and build open and trusting relationships with their teams and customers."
It includes how peoples' communications can motivate or demotivate, managing personal energy, open communication, encouraging action, different thinking styles and building teams through greater self-awareness.
