Craig's early career spanned 10 years in Local Government as an Environmental Health Practitioner, finally as a Principal Officer, becoming a Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. During this time he also acquired the Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and a BA Degree in Science and Organisational behaviour.
This broadening outlook prompted a move into industry when he joined the Milk Marketing Board and Dairy Crest Food Ltd as a Health and Safety Consultant. He also worked part-time as a Counsellor with Relate.
His developing interest in people at work led to a move into Consultancy with the IRPC Group (part of Willis the Insurance Broker) and Croner Consulting (part of the Wolters Kluwer Group - International Publishers). He held a variety of positions in the Employment / Health and Safety Law and Practice fields in these businesses as Technical Director, Corporate Director and Business Director.
He was responsible for leading a Sales and Servicing Team designing and delivering Consultancy and Training Solutions to major Public / Charitable / Private Sector organisations, e.g. Homebase, Scottish and Newcastle, Crown Castle Communications, Amey, Dept of Health and the NCSC, Fujitsu, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hays, Sainsburys, Greene King, RAC and Thresher Group. He extended these into the Netherlands / Germany / Switzerland / Sweden and Spain for Energis and Burger King. A seminar 'Health, Safety and People Management in the New Europe' was presented to the European Association of Development Agencies in Olomouc, the Czech Republic. He carried out high level Strategic Reviews for BHS, Mothercare and the London Borough of Harrow. In addition, he oversaw delivery of similar Consultancy / Training Solutions to many hundreds of smaller businesses (SMEs).
Craig's core skills of Strategic Organisational Analysis, Communication at all levels and a love of People Development and Asset Protection led naturally to him becoming a Director of the Personal / Management and Business Skills Training Consultancy KJ Associaties.
The range of courses offered includes Effective Working Relationships, Communication and Inter-personal Skills, Customer Care, Presentational Skills, Appraisal Skills, Report Writing, Recruitment and Selection, Supervisory Skills, Telephone Skills, Time Management, Teambuilding, Management and Staff Development Programmes. His other interests revolve around sport and music. He is a great rugby fan and plays squash weekly. Craig's wife is a piano teacher and musician, playing in a number of orchestras in Leicester and the County.
