Systematic performance appraisals are an essential part of managing and developing staff yet, for many people as both manager and employee, the appraisal process is feared or, at best, seen as a formality. Our performance appraisal skills training begins by discussing the purpose and benefits of appraisals before defining structured appraisal interviewing techniques which encourage two-way communication. We go on to talk about motivating staff by setting fair performance objectives at staff appraisals which lead to the on-going development of employees' future potential.
The performance appraisal training course will be a mixture of theory and discussions of techniques based on participants' experiences of appraising and being appraised. A performance appraisal training video is also used as part of the programme. By the end of the course trainees should have the ability to deal objectively rather than subjectively with staff to achieve effective and motivated working relationships.
Our Performance Appraisal Skills training is aimed at any staff who have responsibility for appraising staff performance as part of their role as a supervisor, team leader or manager.
